lastpatriot.jpgRadio Jesus and Dangerous Lee welcome Radio Happy Hour favorite and New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor in what could end up being his last interview ever.

Ever since this winter, when word leaked out that Thor’s new thriller, The Last Patriot, included a storyline that describes a missing portion of the Quran, the writer has received numerous death threats.

We’ll find out why he’s gone through with the publication, what precaution he and his family are taking and whether he’s finished anymore books in case he’s assassinated while on tour.

Also this week, actor Daren Kagasoff stops by to discuss his new show. ABC Family’s “Secret Life of the American Teenager” debuts on July 1st and co stars Molly Ringwald, Josie Bisset, and former RHH guest Francia Raisa.

Itching for more Islam? Jonesin’ for more Jihad?

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Did this week’s Radio Happy Hour (above) just whet your whistle with the debate on the state of Islam? Desire to know more about the subject? Care to hear the Muslim point of view? Want me to stop asking rhetorical questions and just get to the point already?

“American Muslim” Robert Salaam was the final caller in the Walid Shoebat segment. In fact, he got so fired up during his confrontation with the former PLO terrorist and bestselling author Brad Thor that Salaam was late to his own BlogTalkRadio show!

Once he got to his show, about 11 minutes late, he continued the discussion! Even the first caller in the Walid Shoebat segment–you know, the dude whose intellect and knowledge of specific historical facts confused the hell out of simple minded Dr. Blogstein–called into Salaam’s show to discuss his earlier experience on the Radio Happy Hour.

So, after hearing this week’s Radio Happy Hour, make sure you join the after party on Robert Salaam’s American Muslim Show.

We’ll find out what caused Shoebat’s incomprehensible 180 degree turn, his opinion of Islam, and whether or not he has any regrets of not pursuing the 72 virgins promised to martyrs.

Then, as long as we have Thor on the show, we’ll try to get some inside scoop into the production of the first feature film being made from one of his books.

Also, we’ll get an update from embattled “Bestest” blogger Bobby Griffin who faced allegations of fraud on our April 4th edition of the Radio Happy Hour.

Author throws flag at NFL

Brad Thor, one of the finest thriller writers in the world today, whose books usually take on Islamic Radical Fundamentalist terrorists, is now taking on the National Football League.

Huh?

Yeah, you read that correctly. In his blog on Amazon.com, Thor cites this recent Fox News report that the NFL refused to run a U.S. Border Patrol recruitment ad in last month’s Super Bowl program because it thought certain language in the ad, specifically the terms “terrorists,” “illegal aliens” and “drug smugglers”, might offend attendees. Because of this, Thor is calling for a boycott of the NFL.

To say that I am shocked is an understatement,” Thor states in his blog post, “I never knew that terrorists, illegal aliens and drug smugglers comprised such a stalwart base of NFL customers. Heaven forbid the NFL should offend them.”

Thor believes the NFL made this decision because they are currently considering a foreign franchise in the next 10 years, with Mexico City a strong contender. He cites this quote from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell:

“We love Mexico. We have a great fan base there. It’s growing every day. We are very interested in going back. And we hope to be dealing with the various officials in Mexico to try to get that done for the 2008 season.”

To me, it does seem silly that the NFL would decline to take money from the government to run this ad that hoped to help reach President Bush’s goal of boosting Border Patrol’s ranks to 18,000. I mean, if the NFL really wants Mexico to have a franchise doesn’t it behoove the league to keep the potential fan base in that country? At this rate, the best way to reach the Mexican market would be to finally bring an NFL franchise back to Los Angeles!

I vow to fully support Brad Thor’s call for a boycott of the National Football League. . .at least until September.

I also vow NOT to watch the NFL Network that is still currently unavailable on my local cable system.

By the way, Brad Thor is from Chicago and is a Chicago Bears fan though that is reportedly not the cause of his bitterness towards the game of football.

Cartoons in custody after attack on Boston

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

A band of terrorist cartoons who refer to themselves as the Aqua Teen Hunger Force or “AFHF”, are in custody tonight after paralyzing the entire Boston Metropolitan Area.

According to Reuters, the day-long scare began when a suspicious package was found on a steel beam under a bridge in the morning. Police stopped traffic on a major interstate highway north of Boston, cordoned off the area, deployed a bomb squad and blew it up.

By afternoon, at least eight other similar suspicious packages were discovered, each triggering a security alert involving emergency crews, federal agents, bomb squads, police and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Luckily, members of the “AFHF” were rounded up and apprehended before there was any damage or serious injury in “Beantown.”

It turns out the brains behind the operation was originally thought to be a master sheik but actually turned out to be the far more sinister Master Shake (right).

Also in custody are Frylock and Meatwad, both seen to the left. Incidentally, Frylock came to Boston after being banished from New York City for containing Trans Fats.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security assured the city of Boston and the rest of the United States that the threat is over though they should remain vigilant. However, they discourage Americans from unfairly harassing other talking food items just based on looks alone.

Meglo-Chic

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Due to the overwhelming positive response to my tribute to The Man Bag, you’ve successfully fooled me into thinking that I know something about fashion. And just like everyone else who believes they have their finger on the pulse of style, I’m going to prove it to you by shoving fashion tips down your throat.

Today, I’m going to help you look Meglo-Chic. Let’s face it, the megalomaniac look is in.We’re here, we cause fear, get used to it!” These bad-ass, terrorist supporting world leaders all must truly be hot under the collar, because all of them are rocking the “no-tie” look.

Check out Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He may be backwards when it comes to human rights, but the man sure is fashion forward. Even when addressing the United Nations, this meglosexual chooses style over a more traditional formal look.

But Ahmablah-blah-blah is not the only nuclear hungry maniac with an eye towards a hip, relaxed look. One only must look east towards North Korea to find another nut job who can’t blame his insanity on a tie cutting off the circulation to his brain.

Kim Jong-Il is always looking relaxed with his open collar look. While the neck-tie industry is really struggling in North Korea, the market for ugly green shirts has never been better.

Even the late mass murdering megalomaniac from Iraq spent the last few years of his life minus the tie. Saddam Hussein, who in his earlier days in power was never caught without the popular neck accessory, lived out his final years in the extreme comfort and freedom of a Meglo-Chic lifestyle. This is, of course, until he was ultimately fitted for the tightest tie of them all.

Da Bomb

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

For those of you who watched the Golden Globes last night instead of 24, please redirect yourself here. Everyone else, read on:

Holy Crap! How is Jack Bauer getting out this one? They nuked LA! Those bastards!

Last night’s episode of 24 was the best two hours of television since Geraldo went into Al Capone’s vault. I was up until 2 AM just thinking about it. What it takes other series (serieses? Seri?) two seasons to do, 24 did between 9:45 and 10:00 PM last night.

TWO series changing events. Bang! Bang! One after the other. If you saw it, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t seen it, you’ll either see eventually or don’t care, so I wont bother to go into great detail. But, I am wrong? AMAZING!

But also scary! The terrorism depicted in the first four hours of Season 6 is probably our worst case scenario, but that just means that it is indeed a scenario thats considered possible. Yikes!

As you heard at the end of last night’s show, the bad guys have four other suitcase nukes waiting to go off in a city near you. Are you the kind of person that’s curious as to what would happen to your city if it was hit by a nuke? Well, just like people with foot fetishes and the members of the International Badminton Federation, there’s a website for you too: http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/gmap/hydesim.html

UPDATE 1/17/06: Here is a reaction to the first four episodes of 24 from a real life Muslim. I always find this guy’s point of view very interesting. He’s level headed and wise and proves it time and time again.
