All that, plus an update from Jared the Intern and the debut of our new weatherman, Justin Loeber. Obviously, we have no real use for a weatherman, but I guarantee this guy is entertaining.
I may be in the minority, but I’m satisfied with the way The Sopranos ended. Its probably the only way that I’d have been satisfied.
Imagine how depressing it would have been if the whole family was shot down in that diner as the final scene. You say you want a bloodbath, but you really didn’t want that.
What if the final scene was Tony waking up, going outside, and picking up the newspaper. Only this time, he’s picking up the El Paso Times and waving hello when his neighbor asks, “How ya doin’ Gary?” Eh, cheesy.
Or worse yet, what if they used the most tired season finale device ever–it was all a dream.
There was no way to make everyone happy with an ending. I think the only way for them not to disappoint is for them not to have ended it. I like how the characters live on. We met them in the middle of their lives and we leave them in the middle of their lives.

After careful consideration of the all the candidates, I, Dr. Blogstein, am ready to throw my support behind a morning news program.
After nearly 15 years as a loyal viewer of NBC’s Today, I am forced to jump ship and am now proud to endorse American Morning on CNN.Forced by the utter nonsense that Today tries to pass off as news.
It used to be that I can at least count on hard-hitting news, stories and interviews for the entire first hour of the program, from 7-8. Now, Anna Nicole stories, American Idol analysis and fashion and relationship segments have seeped in as early as 7:15!That, combined with the Ann Curry’s awkward interview style and painful “off the cuff” chatter and Al Roker’s insufferable shtick have launched me into the welcoming arms of Kiran Chetry and John Roberts.
CNN’sAmerican Morning was really the only viable option when searching for a replacement for Today.Good Morning America was nixed.I’ve never been a real fan of Diane Sawyer, I find her bland, and I can’t take Robin Roberts seriously as I’ll always think of her as a SportsCenter anchor.
I don’t get the CBS Early Show.I mean, obviously I get it, it shows up on channel 2–I just can’t tell who the anchors are, seems like there are dozens of them. Plus Julie Chen, one of those anchors, is married to the president of CBS and that just rubs me the wrong way.
There’s too much cackling on Fox & Friends. Not only that, but I’m convinced that the show only exists to provide a platform for its hosts to plug all the books they’ve written. It’s like a two-hour-long commercial with that crew!
So, that leads me to CNN’sAmerican Morning. Now, I wake up to news.I find out what happened while I was asleep and what may be happening that day. They have interesting interviews about important topics with intelligent news anchors. It’s exactly what I have been longing for oh so long. It’s exactly what Today used to be.
Mickey Mantle: Jerk or Evolved Soul? Bestselling sportswriter Peter Golenbock will join Dr. B and Jane to discuss this very issue. Golenbock’s new book, 7: The Mickey Mantle Novel, started a firestorm of controversy for suggesting, among other things, that Mantle had an affair with Marilyn Monroe and that he was sexually abused as a child.
Golenbock was also responsible for bringing celebrity book publisher Judith Regan to her knees (or was that Bernard Kerik?), leading to her firing late last year. Also, Indian-American (not to be confused with American-Indian) blogger Santosh Hari will stop by to discuss the growing importance of Indian culture and Bollywood in American entertainment–heck, who are we kidding? He’s coming on to talk about American Idol’s Sanjaya.
Join us every Tuesday night at 9PM ET. And if you miss us then, we’re forever archived at BlogTalkRadio. Listen to every second because you never know when something memorable will go down.
