Did Governor Mark Sanford visit the BunnyRanch?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

mark_sanfordDid disgraced South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford visit world famous Moonlite BunnyRanch?  Brothel owner and star of HBO’s Cathouse Dennis Hof refused to confirm or deny but one journalist seemed pretty certain.

(50:25 into this audio clip: )

“A newspaper came to me and said, as if it were fact, ‘We know the governor has been there, we know he spent $8000, the attorney general is going to investigate this.  What we’re concerned with is if spent his own personal money’,”  Hof reported to this week’s Radio Happy Hour.

Hof says, if it came to it, he’d fight a subpoena with “every bit of energy and money I’ve got.”david-letterman

Hof also explained why we was suspiciously out of the media when the David Letterman scandal broke, an event that usually results in a BunnyRanch press release.

(44:50 into this audio clip: )

“Its an opportunity I would have jumped on but I’m a Letterman fan and always have been and I thought ‘I’m going to cut this guys some slack’”

This isn’t the first time Hof pulled punches during a national sex scandal.  Earlier this year, Hof  “reluctantly” held back “out of fear” of retribution when Sen. John Ensign from his own state Nevada admitted to an extramarital affair with a woman who had worked for him.john_ensign_090617_mn

The fear however may be subsiding as Hof also said, “Does this moron know how to spell ‘BunnyRanch’?  Come on! He’s from Nevada!”
