If you’re in former Radio Happy Hour host Dangerous Lee’s email list you woke up on Christmas morning to two really large and quite shiny gifts in your inbox. In the spirit of the holidays, I will share that gift with you:
(click image to make them, er, to make it larger)
And remember, Dangerous Lee didn’t just leave the Radio Happy Hour to spend more time with her microwave and dishwasher, she also wanted to concentrate on writing her first book, which apparently she has completed.
A rising talent in the indie pop/rock scene, Dion Roy’s recently released debut album, “Gallery,” has received rave reviews.
Blog Critics gushes that the album is “Expertly crafted, simply constructed, infectiously catchy, and instantly warming, this is a Gallery you would do well to take a gentle stroll through.” And the Rock and Roll Guru says that the album “is a stellar debut by a talented artist that should break into the mainstream sooner rather than later.”
She’ll be joined by psychiatrist and award winning photographer Glenn Losack MDwho will be displaying his photography at an exhibition called “The Furious Physician” on September 24, 2009 at Salon Ciel in New York City.
The Burl, from Annie and Burl Live will once again sit in for the honeymooningVinny Bond and chat live with the listeners. Vinny will come back next week.
I’ll comment more at the very beginning of Tuesday night’s show. Feel free to tune in and participate by asking questions in the chat room or by calling in at 646-652-4804.
Dangerous Lee Says: September 12th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Many people saw you promoting that I had decided to come back, so you may want to give further details on why I will not be returning. I have been asked many times by listeners what changed in the last couple of days, so put it out there.
Initially I fought you on your resignation and asked (begged) you to come back. You decided to come back. I announced your return. Then after a couple phone conversations and email exchanges I realized that maybe you were right in your resignation email. It was indeed time to move on.
It became apparent to me that the main differences that led to this ugly on air exchange (which led to your resignation email above) remained and I feared that eventually it would all blow up again. I was too proud of the two years we had together building our show to #1 and too fond of all the great things we did together to risk another fight marring those memories and overshadowing what we accomplished together.
It was then that I decided to accept your resignation afterall.
The following email arrived in Dr. Blogstein’s inbox last night, mid show, during the Jenni Pulos interview:
Since you obviously have a problem with me being who I am and in turn taking everything personal, I am resigning from the show. It’s been real, it’s been fun, but in reality it’s time for me to move on and concentrate on my own endeavors. No hard feelings but this was the straw that broke the camels back…for both of us. Good luck with the show!
Keep it Dangerous,
Dangerous Lee
What ledup to this mid show resignation?
It began when musical guest Merlinmoon, as rock and roller types are prone to do, went MIA during his scheduled time slot. Dr. Blogstein, Dangerous Lee and Burl (who was filling in for the soon-groom Vinny) now had some time to fill before the next scheduled segment. Perfect opportunity to catch up on household chores, right?
Dangerous Lee thought so, Dr. B disagreed.
Just one week removed from the spat brought on by Dangerous Lee’s mid show microwaving, the Radio Happy Hour’s mercurial host reacted negatively to his aspiring author co host’s announcement that she was about to load up her dishwasher:
After receiving the resignation, Burl called DL off the air to attempt to get her to call back into the show. Dr. Blogstein then followed with a call after the show was over.
Dangerous Lee will reconsider the resignation though is not certain to return. She only promised to think about it.
Next week, DL has tickets to see a Britney Spears concert on Tuesday night and was already planing to miss the Radio Happy Hour. Her next scheduled appearance would be on 9/15. We’ll have to wait and see if she returns.

Four minutes and thirty seconds into this week’s Radio Happy Hour, Dangerous Lee revealed the title and subject matter of her upcoming book.
Dr. Blogstein’s cohost, who’s “breasts are real,” gave up hosting her own weekly radio program to concentrate on writing her book. She made this statement on her website just hours after making her big announcement on the most downloaded comedy on BlogTalkRadio:
“Keep Your Panties Up and Your Skirt Down” is a guide to exciting safe sex. Through the six tales contained in this book you will be entertained, educated, and eroticized.
The title of the book are words my grandmother said to me and her other granddaughters when we were growing up as a warning to not have sex. After all, if you’re not equipped with the knowledge of the bad things that can happen when you have good sex you should not be having sex. This book is dedicated to her memory.
Working in HIV prevention I have learned a lot and I have had the pleasure of sharing my knowledge with thousands of people. With this book I want to reach millions more, not simply for fame and fortune but because millions of people lack the need to know information contained in the pages of this book.
People aged 13-24 have the highest new HIV infection rates and African Americans and Latinos have the highest infection rates in the United States. I equate a huge chunk of this problem with the lack of prevention education and sex education in our schools. Abstinence only programs do us no good. Abstinence is fine, but we must also educate ourselves and our babies with the proper information so that when they’re ready to get busy they can do it safely.
We must keep it real when we discuss sex and inside the pages of “Keep Your Panties Up and Your Skirt Down” I get real nasty, real sexy, real deep, and speak the real truth about HIV.
In the coming weeks I will reveal a sneak peek of the story “An Honest Ho”. Many of you may be familiar with this story as some of you have helped contribute your ideas for the name of the main character and the club she hangs out in.
I am also working with a great team to make sure the book cover is hot because no matter what anyone says a book is judged by its cover, and because I am self publishing I want it to be able to hang on the shelves with the big dawgs.
“Keep Your Panties Up and Your Skirt Down” is an important and very scary endeavor for me. After attempting to get the attention of major publishing houses for more than two years I am doing it my way. Writing is my passion and I am also very passionate about HIV prevention.
I have spent countless hours educating myself on the many aspects of self publishing such as marketing, sponsorships, partnerships, promotions, and the dos and donts of the entire publishing process.
I’m ready! Are you ready for me?
Dangerous Lee recently had a sultry short story published in Succulent: Chocolate Flava II, the erotic anthology edited by Zane, the undisputed “Queen of Erotica.”
