First, Dr. B and Dangerous Lee welcome Kato Kaelin to the show.

Kato, obviously best known as OJ Simpson’s guest house tenant at the time of Nicole Brown Simpson’s and Ronald Goldman’s murder, is now on a Fox Reality Channel reality show, Gimme My Reality Show,  in which he’s competing to have his own reality show.

We’ll find out what he’s been up to since testifying in the original OJ Simpson trial, whether he’s finally got his own place to live and whether being on a reality show to win a reality show may finally signal that they’ve run out of ideas in Hollywood.cristinaperezdaytimeemmy08.jpg

Then, speaking of trials, we have a guest who’s presided over plenty of them and won an  Emmy Award for it: Judge Cristina Perez. The stunning host of TV’s Cristina’s Court returns to the Radio Happy Hour to let us know how life has changed since being the first Emmy recipient for a TV court show.

But wait, there’s more!  Radio Jesus brings the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the The Last Patriot, Brad Thor, with him to interview legendary Hollywood producer and writer David Zucker.

The genius behind such classics as Airplane! and Naked Gun will talk about his latest controversial release An American Carol starring Kevin Farley.

The Blogstein Effect

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Dr. Blogstein’s Radio Happy Hour can now officially be known as “The Oprah Show of Internet Radio”

Following author Brad Thor’s appearance on the popular show on July 17th, sales for his latest book, The First Commandment, skyrocketed him to the highest New York Times bestseller list ranking of his career.

Just in to the Dr. Blogstein Newsroom, the New York Times announced that Thor’s book will land at #7 on their August 5th edition of their bestseller list. Thor’s previous high spot was at #32.

“I don’t want to take full credit for the success of his book, I mean, Thor does write a helluva story,” Dr. Blogstein said, “but I’ll be happy to acknowledge that we probably deserve at least 47% of the credit.”

Thor was unavailable for comment, but I’m sure not for too long if he reads this story.

Contest: Find the F-Bomb

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor was a guest on this week’s Radio Happy Hour.

Following the show, in fact the next morning,Thor mentioned to me that he dropped “The F-Bomb” while on the air.

Its obviously nothing to be ashamed of, in fuckt, I encourage it on my show. The funny thing was, however, (by the way, am I over using the comma in this posting, or what?!?) I didn’t remember hearing it.

I listened to my interview with him again, and still didn’t notice the word “fuck.” It wasn’t until my third time listening that I caught Thor’s F-Bomb.

Perhaps I’m oblivious. Maybe I’m deaf. But on the off chance that I’m neither of those two things and it really is tough to catch the f-word, I’m going to turn it into a contest.

The first three listeners who email me the sentence in which Brad Thor uttered the word “fuck” will receive an autographed copy of Thor’s latest release The First Commandment.

By the way, don’t forget that on Thursday July 26th, Thor will be taking part in the world’s first ever virtual book event. Visit www.BlogTalkRadio.com/BradThor for all the details.

UPDATE! 7-16-07: We have one winner! Two more to go!

Thor, whose new book The First Commandment hits bookstores on July 17th, will discuss his involvement in a little known Department of Homeland Security committee. He’ll also talk current events and he’ll tell us whether immensely infamous and terrifically evil “Troll” makes another appearance in his new book.

Also, we’ll take a trip to 1965 and interview the Fab Four. That’s right! John, Paul, George and Ringo will be live on air to perform a couple of their classic tunes! For the less gullible, Anthony Pomes and John Tabacco of Mostly Moptop, the ultimate Beatles tribute band, will entertain us and start the Radio Happy Hour British Invasion.

If that’s not a campaign slogan, I don’t know what is!

Brad Thor, New York Times bestselling author of the upcoming novel The First Commandment and soon-to-be Radio Happy Hour guest on Tuesday July 10th, has drawn the ire of many after he suggested the installation of jailed former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega as dictator of Iraq on an appearance last week on Glenn Beck’s TV show.

See the video of Brad Thor’s appearance on Glenn Beck’s program.

Thor went on to say, “We need a dictator back in that country. That’s all those people respond to. The Arab world is so messed up, they can’t — you can’t give people democracy. They have to earn it. So let’s put our own strongman in there like we did with the shah, and let’s — let’s make it work.

While it was clear to me that it was said tongue-in-cheek, I say, let’s not close off that idea yet. Back on February 23, 2006 I suggested putting Saddam back in charge for the same reasons. While that’s impossible now, perhaps one of his body doubles could be propped up and put in charge–though before that’s done it would have to be carefully explained to George W. as we don’t want him to get confused and go Shock & Awe again.

But short of a Saddam body double, I think Thor is onto something with Noriega. The man has the dictatorial experience (Noriega, not Thor), he’s not Sunni or Shiite or Kurdish so favoritism will not be an issue and I’m sure he’s just dying to get out of his cell and back into a Panamanian style heat.

I say give it try. It really can’t get much worse.

Welcome to Iraq

Author throws flag at NFL

Brad Thor, one of the finest thriller writers in the world today, whose books usually take on Islamic Radical Fundamentalist terrorists, is now taking on the National Football League.

Huh?

Yeah, you read that correctly. In his blog on Amazon.com, Thor cites this recent Fox News report that the NFL refused to run a U.S. Border Patrol recruitment ad in last month’s Super Bowl program because it thought certain language in the ad, specifically the terms “terrorists,” “illegal aliens” and “drug smugglers”, might offend attendees. Because of this, Thor is calling for a boycott of the NFL.

To say that I am shocked is an understatement,” Thor states in his blog post, “I never knew that terrorists, illegal aliens and drug smugglers comprised such a stalwart base of NFL customers. Heaven forbid the NFL should offend them.”

Thor believes the NFL made this decision because they are currently considering a foreign franchise in the next 10 years, with Mexico City a strong contender. He cites this quote from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell:

“We love Mexico. We have a great fan base there. It’s growing every day. We are very interested in going back. And we hope to be dealing with the various officials in Mexico to try to get that done for the 2008 season.”

To me, it does seem silly that the NFL would decline to take money from the government to run this ad that hoped to help reach President Bush’s goal of boosting Border Patrol’s ranks to 18,000. I mean, if the NFL really wants Mexico to have a franchise doesn’t it behoove the league to keep the potential fan base in that country? At this rate, the best way to reach the Mexican market would be to finally bring an NFL franchise back to Los Angeles!

I vow to fully support Brad Thor’s call for a boycott of the National Football League. . .at least until September.

I also vow NOT to watch the NFL Network that is still currently unavailable on my local cable system.

By the way, Brad Thor is from Chicago and is a Chicago Bears fan though that is reportedly not the cause of his bitterness towards the game of football.

Radio Debut

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Tonight at 7:00 PM ET I’m hitting the air waves! As you see in my previous post, your’s truly will be a guest on “My Point,” a live, one hour program carried on Blog Talk Radio. The show can be heard live by following this link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hostpage.aspx?show_id=8482 and I believe it will remain archived there forever. Lucky me.

The show is hosted by David Odeen of “My Point” and “Jenn of the Jungle” of “Screw Politically Correct BS” and is a political and current event talk show from a conservative point of view. According to Blog Talk Radio, I’m being billed as a “very funny conservative blogger.”

Now, I’ve always known myself to be “very funny” (though I would have described me as EXTREMELY funny) but as far as being “conservative,” that was news to me. I sure as hell aint “Colmes” but I never considered myself “Hannity” either. I suppose if the hosts keep the discussion on killing terrorists and hating Osama bin Laden I’ll be okay, but if they ask for my views on abortion or whether or not I care about gay marriage, then they may not like me anymore. We’ll see.

According to Odeen’s blog My Point” they plan on engaging me in conversation about such things “as some of our favorite authors, like Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.” But beyond that, I have no idea what they plan on filling the 90 minutes with. But I’m coming prepared!

  • I watched last night’s premiere of the kick-ass, sixth season of 24 in case they decide to talk about that. (For the record, I’d have watched 24 regardless of this interview or not.)
  • I bought a newspaper, though truth be told, I haven’t read it yet. (Anything happen that I should know about?)
  • I re-watched Saddam getting hanged (or hung?)

Hopefully, that will be enough to keep me interesting. If not, please be my safety valve. Its a “call-in” show so feel free to call in. The number is (347) 996-5948. Call in, say hi, join the discussion, start a new discussion, whatever.

And also, feel free to use the comment section below to let me know how I’m doing, what I should do, how I did, how smart I am, how you want my body, whatever.

UPDATE! 1/16/07: My appearance on “My Point”, including the CEO of BlogTalkRadio offering me my own show, can be heard here…

Stay tuned for details of The Dr. Blogstein Radio Happy Hour coming to BlogTalkRadio in February!
