In today’s, New York Post, McGreevey issues a denial:
January 29, 2009 –
FORMER New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey has done some kooky things, but bribing a guard to get into a “Hannah Montana” concert isn’t one of them. “Is he nuts?” McGreevey said, after reading here about a BlogTalkRadio report that he tried to “pay a security guard” to let him into the show at Newark’s Prudential Center. “We already had tickets . . . In fact, the stubs are still hanging on our refrigerator door,” said McGreevey, who took daughter Jacqueline to the event last year. “Jacqueline likes to keep them there as a memento. For me, they represent an experience I hope not to have to repeat anytime soon. It’s insane. The place was full of 1,200 screaming little girls.”

Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey’s corrupt ways apparently has no limits.
Zach Sang, sophomore at Wayne Valley High School in New Jersey and editor of his school newspaper, told Dr. Blogstein’s Radio Happy Hour that he witnessed the most famous “Gay American” trying to bribe a security guard at Newark’s Prudential Center to gain backstage access at a December 2007 Hannah Montana concert.
As soon as the former gov was turned away, 15-year-old Sang, who always carries a tape recorder with him, asked McGreevey what he was doing at a Miley Cyrus show.
According to the cub reporter, McGreevey claimed that his daughter “was here somewhere,” though Sang admits he “didn’t see his daughter around anywhere.”
Here is the actual story and photograph that ran in the Wayne Valley Smoke Signals:
Ex- Governor Jim McGreevey a Hannah Montana fan??
“I am a gay American” Mr.McGreevey should have said was “I am a Gay, Hannah Montana loving American.”
I recently went to see Miley Cyrus in concert at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ, and yes it was an amazing concert even for a straight fifteen year old boy.
After, the concert I decided to go bribe her body guards with my friends George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, because I really wanted to ask her a few questions. But, I ended up getting distracted by an odd elf like man who was trying to get in to see Miley Cyrus as well. I took another glance at the guy and I finally remembered how I knew him, he was Ex-Governor McGreevey, yes that’s right the same guy who was the Governor of my home state, New Jersey!
He also came out on live TV and then went to go tell his story on Oprah (who the hell doesn’t tell there coming out story to Oprah?!Oprah and her boyfriend Gale always get teary eyed when they hear those touching stories).
I then decided to forget Hannah and go Mcgayee. . .oh sorry McGreevey my bad!
I asked him a few questions and all he really said was that he could not comment on the subject. I even asked him what he was doing at a Hannah Montana concert and he said he was there for his daughter, I did not remember seeing any little girl around him.
I have interviewed many people in my fifteen years on this earth but I will remember this interview forever!

“Put your hands where I can see them, Mr. Governor.”
And finally, here is the transcript of this story from this week’s Radio Happy Hour:
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) You interviewed the ex-governor of New Jersey, Jim McGreevy, who of course is a gay American. What were the conditions and reasons behind that interview?
(ZACH SANG) I was at a Hannah Montana concert and –
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) Which is where most people see Jim McGreevy! That’s interesting.
(ZACH SANG) It was really ironic. He was trying to get in. He was trying bribe the security guard to let him get in to see Hannah Montana –
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) Are you serious?
(ZACH SANG) I swear to god! They wouldn’t let him in, though – they didn’t.
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) Where was this concert? I gotta hear this.
(ZACH SANG) It was at the Prudential Center –
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) It was at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It was a Hannah Montana concert. And the ex-governor, Jim McGreevy, was trying to sweet-talk his way in without a ticket.
(ZACH SANG) I swear to god! Because you needed passes to get in to see Hannah Montana. I got my tickets from WPLJ, so they gave me those passes. I carry my recorder with me everywhere I go where I think people are going to be around. So I carry it with me. And I saw him, right when he was done talking to the security guard by the door. I kind of inched my way in, put my recorder in his face and started asking him questions.
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) And he answered your questions?
(ZACH SANG) Yes, he answered all of them – and I got a picture and everything.
(DR. BLOGSTEIN) Did you ask him about his gayness?
(ZACH SANG) I talk about it a little bit, but he said he wouldn’t comment. But I asked him why he was at a Hannah Montana concert and he just said that his daughter was there somewhere but I didn’t see his daughter around anywhere.
