Journalist/historian Dave MacPherson’s 300-page book “The Rapture Plot” (see Armageddon Books online) has uncovered solid evidence that the “pretribulation rapture” view (the view promoted by Lindsey, LaHaye, Hagee, the late Falwell, and many others) has a decidedly anti-Jewish foundation! Before 1830 (the year the above “rapture” view was originated in Scotland) all Christians had always believed that the purpose of the endtime “tribulation” under the Antichrist was to purify the Christian church. The new interpretation began to wrongfully teach that Jews deserved the “tribulation” more than Christians – an anti-Jewish view that is still strongly held by Christians, especially conservative evangelicals and fundamentalist Christians. MacPherson says that if Christians love Jewish persons as much as they say they do, why do they want to be raptured off earth before the “tribulation” instead of wanting to stay here to be able to help and comfort Jewish persons during the predicted time of “Jacob’s trouble”? He adds that if Jewish persons would read his book, they could confront promoters of the same anti-Jewish rapture view which could do much to stamp out anti-Semitism in the world.
