Sopranos Swan Song

Who else thought their cable went out last night?

I may be in the minority, but I’m satisfied with the way The Sopranos ended. Its probably the only way that I’d have been satisfied.

Imagine how depressing it would have been if the whole family was shot down in that diner as the final scene. You say you want a bloodbath, but you really didn’t want that.

What if the final scene was Tony waking up, going outside, and picking up the newspaper. Only this time, he’s picking up the El Paso Times and waving hello when his neighbor asks, “How ya doin’ Gary?” Eh, cheesy.

Or worse yet, what if they used the most tired season finale device ever–it was all a dream.

There was no way to make everyone happy with an ending. I think the only way for them not to disappoint is for them not to have ended it. I like how the characters live on. We met them in the middle of their lives and we leave them in the middle of their lives.

I didn’t hate it.
