Embattled Bestest Blogger Under Investigation
Bobby Griffin, the creator of The Bestest Blog of All-Time, who appeared on the April 4th edition of the Radio Happy Hour to defend himself against accusations that he took money from bloggers for promises that he couldn’t keep, appears to be in hot water again.
Working off a tip from “Starrlight,” we’ve discovered that when trying to visit Griffin’s site, we’re greeted by the page displayed at the very bottom of this post, stating: “This blog is under review due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations.“
Griffin’s site promised added traffic to bloggers that signed up to his blog and offered even more exposure to those webmasters and blogger who donated money to him. The more money you donate, the more hits you were promised. But when he stopped updated his site and the hits stopped coming, paying members cried foul.
Griffin came on the The Radio Happy Hour and promised to come back bigger and better than before.
I reached out to Griffin for comment before publication of this post but was too impatient to wait for him to get back to me.
This blog is under review due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations and is open to authors only

I didn’t even notice this until you pointed it out Dr. B. I honestly had no clue what was going on. You’d think they’d send me an email or something. I know about as much as you do on the topic right now, I’ll fill you in if I learn anything new.
Only thing I can think of is I “may have” tweaked my Navbar a bit to downplay their shitty “Next Blog Button” and accentuate my awesome “Random Blog Button.” Not sure if this is against terms, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I like that, never admit to anything Bobby. You “may have”.
You “may have” completely changed the blogger/flag/next blog buttons so they instead go to your random blog scam
You “may have” used automated scripts to constantly update your blog (you recently turned it on the random blog one), in order to steal traffic then parcel it out to your paying customers. How else do you think he can ‘turn on’ hits to people, that he’s just a great marketer. A great scammer yes, marketer no.
Either one or both of those are enough, and there could be more TOS violations.
You’ve been caught, you should be grateful to Blogger for them allowing you to scam the system for as long as you did, and collect as much money as you already have.

Ohhh….I am a tipster now! How cool is that?! Me and Deep Throat
April 20th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
Deep Throat, ay? Looking for an internship, Starr?
April 20th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
Heh
If I were, you can be sure I do, indeed, have the bonafides!

This is once again an interesting situation. Now, Doc. B, you can understand why the evening B.G. was on the show and you had allowed me to hang around I said I would not link until the situation was resolved.
At that time you asked why I wouldn’t do it sooner…. well, you see.. the worm still turns on this one.
Starrlight…please don’t cause Doc to get all freaky deeky

I see your point, Bond. I guess I’m too trusting–you’ve been around the block enough to attain the right amount of skepticism.

Bond…party pooper!

On a different subject..
The badge from Critique My Blog is intended only for those whose blogs I reviewed. Sorry about the confusion.

I’m with Dave. If anyone needs proof, click on Bobby’s profile and check out the Random Blog, since Bestest is closed. You can see the badly-edited button that he tried to place over the actual Blogger toolbar. He even snagged the Flag Blog button. Mouse over it and see where the link takes you. Oh, look at that, right back to the random blog. How amazing.
I have never been so glad I didn’t donate anything to the farce that was the “Bestest” blog.
April 20th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Dr. .. yes please, if you would be so kind.

I took down the pretty ‘critique my blog’ banner since Skittles asked me to due to the fact that it’s exclusive to those blogs that she herself reviews. I’m fully complicit with those rules and regulations put forth by Skittles.

I too am glad that I didn’t donate any of my hard earned money for this… I just found this out today… where have I been????
April 20th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
I donated, but I am cool with it. I met waaay too many cool folks via Bestest so it’s all good with me.

Maybe I’m missing something, and feel free to correct me if I am, but I don’t understand why there’s so much anger about this. I mean, if you don’t like his site or the idea of it, can’t you just stay away from it? Nobody said you had to join it and/or pay anything towards it. Blogging is about freedom to do and say you want. If TOS were violated, that’s between Bobby and Blogger, not any of us.

Thanks! Billy Mac is working on making a badge for people he critiqued. Maybe I can talk Miss Bee into making one since she made the other.

interesting to find out…. don’t think I’d ever have realised as I’ve not linked to the bestest or random blog pages for a long time. Wonder what’s going on.
April 23rd, 2007 at 8:40 pm
HA! I KNEW it… Can I smell a rat?!
April 24th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
I hope that “random blog button” is outlawed. Once you get into Bobby’s site, you can’t leave. And, if by chance you browse onto another good site – it can’t be blogrolled or bookmarked. It sucked.
April 25th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
I had left a comment on Bobby’s site that hits to my blog from his site had dropped down to almost nothing and he deleted my comment.
