Phil me in
When the Radio Happy Hour debuted last month on BlogTalkRadio nobody could have predicted the popularity of one of our regular callers.
Just as “Family Matters” was never intended to be all about Steve Urkel, we never meant to make Phil from Minnesota a star. But, you know what? We gotta give the audience what they want–And what they want is more Phil.
So, let’s learn more about this entertaining, intriguing and compelling accidental radio star.
Hometown: Down South close enough for Rock n’ Roll.
Profession: Retired Truck Driver
Credit Card #: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha now compute those numbers.
Drugs used: Will only answer that one live on the radio (Dr. B’s note: Smart move. Put nothing in writing.)
Favorite alcoholic beverage: Southern Comfort Straight not even on the Rocks.
Favorite Rock ‘n Roll Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival
Favorite TV Show: “Hogan’s Heroes”
Favorite Movie: Clint Eastwood in - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Favorite Food: Cajun Chicken
Where is the weirdest place where you have ever made whoopee? In an Elevator - She was very kinky
Ginger or Maryann? Maryann of course
Laverne or Shirley? If I had to pick of one, I guess it would be Shirley, but they’re both a bit whaco.
Well, thank you Phil. Hopefully this will help satisfy your ever growing fan base until the next time you call into Dr. Blogstein’s Radio Happy Hour.

Hi My Point,
I went to enlist right after High School 1964, filled out all the necessary paper work but I flunked the physical exam due to high blood pressure problems.
I have had high blood pressure ever since I was 14 years of age and I was on one medication and it has gotten worse, I am currently taking three different medications for high blood pressure.

Hi Jenn of the Jungle,
Please Jenn try not to beat head against the wall, I don’t want you to get a bad headache. LOL
If you guessed Mississippi as near my home area you are very close. Yes Jenn, I drove Semi-Truck since early Feburary of 1970 through August of 1991.

I have two questions for Phil.
1. Have you ever had truck-stop Mexican food that didn’t give you the scours?
2. Do people actually use those showers at truck stops? Those things give me the creeps.
March 26th, 2007 at 5:57 am
Hi Slaghammer,
Some truck stops I didn’t stop at, when there were no truck stops near by and I had to stop somewhere to eat, I would park the truck near by a large store towards the end of the parking lot or alongside a road to run into a regular Restaurant. Some Truck Stops put out great food and some didn’t.
Yes there again, some truck stops did have clean showers and some didn’t and it was a matter of getting to know which ones kept them in good shape. One could almost tell by the amount of Trucks already at the Truck Stop by how well they are kept up.

Dearest Doc:
You attract quite the following don’t you dear?
Mmmmm… The Home Of Rock and Roll is Memphis.. I should know I was there a couple of weeks ago… and it’s close to Mississippi…
Question for Phil:
Did you wear Flip-flops or did you just throw caution to the wind and go on in there à la Britney barefoot and all?
Hugs dear friend… seems you’re a star! and I almost knew you when hehehe
March 26th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
Thanks, Dearest Anndi.
And Phil, I believe her question about footwear is referring back to your truck stop showers.
March 26th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Hi Anndi,
I just threw caution to the wind and went in there a’la Britney barefoot and all. LOL
Hugs to you too my dear friend, yea and I wasn’t even trying to be a star. Anndi you can be assured that when I am a star I will never forget about you.
Hi Doc,
I am not sure but I think that your getting more enjoyment out of this than anyone else?
March 26th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
You may be right, Phil, but I’m biased. I’m a big Phil Phan.
March 26th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
Hi Doc,
I am truly surprised that you have not been married yet, because if you would schmooze the women half as good as you been trying to do with me, you sure would have been married and had several children by know. LOL
But I appreciate that Doc, Thank You.
March 27th, 2007 at 1:45 am
Doc married?? No one could manage this character!
Hey Phil…HBP, sorry man..you gotta be careful with that! Sorry you could not have served, it would have been funny to hear those stories, well the ones I imagine in fiction, chasing those Cong around the jungle.
Semper Fi Phil!
March 27th, 2007 at 2:00 am
Hi My Point,
Yea that is what I kind of figured that is why Doc wasn’t married, he is quite a character.
Thank you, that is one of the reasons that my Doctor told me to get my Blood pressure checked regularly, so I usually go in to the clinic once a week.
Yes I felt bad about not being able to serve for many years, I wanted to be a part of that so bad, I get depressed about it even yet today.
Semper Fi My Friend
